Gold Coast Breakers draw with Easts

Round 2 of Brisbane rugby’s Premiership Grade was played yesterday with the Gold Coast Breakers unable to capitalise on their good lead to draw 29-all with Eastern Districts at Albert Park. A tough fought match in brilliant sunshine on the Gold Coast saw the Breakers skip ahead through some nicely worked tries in the mid-field to have a comfortable lead at the half-way mark. Easts put on three converted tries out wide in the second half and with a couple of penalty kick to lead 29-26 with 10 minutes to go. Only a successful penalty kick on full-time secured the draw. Easts retained the Batty/Thomas Trophy.

In other games GPS maintained it’s perfect record this season with a 38-29 win over Brothers @ Yoku Road.

Qld University broke Sunshine Coast’s initial run winning 25-6.

Souths had their 1st win defeating Norths 36-27 @ Shaw Road.

Sunnybank defeated Wests 37-14.
